The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certificate program combines instruction and hands-on training to prepare the student to enter the workforce at a much faster pace. This program is designed to prepare students for entry level practice in the health care field in the area of patient care in a variety of health service facilities.

Curriculum Requirements: Students must obtain a TB skin test and undergo and pass a mandatory drug screening and criminal background check to be eligible for clinical learning experiences. Transportation is required to clinical agencies.
Potential Certifications: Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to apply for the Virginia Board of Nursing Certification Exam for Certified Nurse Aide. Students will receive American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification upon successful completion of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation training.
FastForward Workforce Credential Grant (WCG) pays 2/3 of the cost of tuition: You pay 1/3 of tuition upon enrollment; the Commonwealth of Virginia pays 1/3 upon successful completion of the class; the final 1/3 is paid by the Commonwealth of Virginia when you earn the credential.
In addition to receiving grant funding, you may qualify for other funding assistance programs to receive additional tuition assistance.
Supplies and Fees: Tuition does include cost of the following program-required supplies and fees: textbook and workbook, nursing uniform and shoes, clinical kit with stethoscope, medical supplies, CPR ecard, Nurse Aide State Board fee, TB skin test fee, as well as a $50 credential attainment incentive.
Financial Requirements: Tuition does not include the cost of program-required CPR certification training, drug screen, or background check.
Employment Objective: Students who successfully complete the appropriate courses may be eligible for employment in hospitals, skilled/residential nursing facilities, home care, physician offices, or other health related facilities.
