Medical Billing and Coding (WCG)

This course prepares students with the skills needed to become a medical billing and coding specialist. Students learn to process patient data for the proper assignment of ICD-10 coding and to prepare and process health insurance claims for reimbursement. Topics covered include: how to monitor patient information, verify required documentation for release of medical information, as well as legal and regulatory factors involved in health care reimbursement and release of health care information.
