This short-term training program prepares students for the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) HVAC Level 1 Exam. The increasing development of HVAC (heating and air-conditioning systems) technology causes employers to recognize the importance of continuous education and keeping up to speed with the latest equipment and skills. Hence, technical school training or apprenticeship programs often provide an advantage and a higher qualification for employment.
NCCER’s HVAC program has been designed by highly qualified subject matter experts with this in mind. Our four levels, North American Technician Excellence (NATE) recognized, present theoretical and practical skills essential to your success as an HVAC installer or technician.
Topics covered in HVAC Level 1 include the following:
- Introduction to HVAC
- Trade Math
- Basic Electricity
- Intro to Heating, Cooling, and Air Distribution Systems
- Basic Copper and Plastic Piping Practices
- Soldering and Brazing
- Basic Carbon Steel Piping Practices
NCCER Core Certification.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) HVAC Level One Exam.
Tuition: $1,698 Full Price; $566 FastForward WCG Price
FastForward Workforce Credential Grant (WCG) pays 2/3 of the cost of tuition: You pay 1/3 of tuition upon enrollment; the Commonwealth of Virginia pays 1/3 upon successful completion of the class; the final 1/3 is paid by the Commonwealth of Virginia when you earn the credential.
In addition to receiving grant funding, you may qualify for other funding assistance programs to receive additional tuition assistance.
Supplies and Fees:
Tuition includes cost of textbook, supplies, NCCER HVAC Level One Skills Exam registration fee, as well as a $50 credential attainment incentive.
