This program is designed to help students build general carpentry skills. Emphasis is placed on safety, new construction regulations, and best practices.

Its modules cover topics such as:
  • Orientation to Carpentry
  • Building Materials & Fasteners
  • Construction Plans & Documents
  • Principles of Site and Building Layouts
  • Floor Systems
  • Wall Systems
  • Roof Framing
  • Basic Stair Layout
  • Building Envelope Systems
Format: Hybrid

Length: 170 Course Hours (120 in-person / 50 online)

Prerequisite: NCCER's Core certification.
 
Potential Certification: Upon successful completion of all modules in the curriculum, students will receive the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education & Research) General Carpentry certification.

Occupational Objective: Carpenters make up the largest building trades occupation in the industry and those with all-around skills are in high demand. Carpenters construct, install, and repair structures made of wood and other materials.
