This program presents theoretical and practical skills essential to the student's success as an HVAC installer or technician. Students learn foundational skills technicians need to safely install, maintain, and troubleshoot multiple facets of residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC equipment.

Its modules cover topics such as:
  • Alternating Current
  • Compressors
  • Refrigerants and Oils
  • Leak Detection, Evacuation, Recovery, and Charging
  • Metering Devices
  • Heat Pumps
  • Basic Maintenance
  • Chimneys, Vents, and Flues
  • Sheet Metal Duct Systems Air Quality
  • Fiberglass and Fabric Duct Systems
  • Commercial Airside Systems
  • Air Quality Equipment
  • Introduction to Hydronic Systems
Length: 175 Course Hours (122.5 in-person / 52.5 online)

Curriculum Requirements: NCCER's Core and HVAC Level 1 certifications

Potential Certifications: Upon successful completion of the program, students will earn the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) HVAC Level 2 certificate.
