NCCER's Heavy Equipment Operations curriculum is designed to provide the foundational skills of safety, pre- and post-operation checks, site planning and layout, and operational skills for a range of light-duty and heavy equipment. Heavy equipment simulator exercises are used to replicate real-life operating scenarios.

- Classification of Heavy Equipment
- Heavy Equipment Operation Safey
- Equipment Inspection and Readiness
- Introduction to Earthmoving
- Introduction to GPS/GNNS
- Utility Tractors
- Skid Steers
Length: 88 Course Hours (56 in-person hours / 32 self-paced online hours)
Prerequisite: NCCER Core certification
Potential Certifications: Upon successful completion of all modules in the curriculum, students will receive the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Heavy Equipment Operations Level 1 certification.
