This program is designed to prepare medical assistant students for certification and to perform both administrative and patient clinical procedures in a variety of medical settings.

Tasks performed could include:
  • Interviewing patients
  • Measuring and recording vital signs
  • Preparing exam rooms
  • Cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment
  • Assisting providers with exams and procedures
  • Administering injections, topical and oral medications
  • Performing venipuncture and point-of-care testing
Length: 113 Course Hours (73 in-person hours / 40 self-paced online hours)

Prerequisite: High School Diploma or GED / high school equivalency.

Potential Certifications: Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association's Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam, administered by P&HCC.

Supplies and Fees: Tuition includes cost of textbook, workbook, supplies, CPR certification, exam study guide and practice tests, and exam voucher.
