The
Automation and Robotics program provides an introduction to industrial robotics and explains how they are used in automated systems. Students learn to ensure systems are running at maximum capacity with an understanding of the role of each component and device. They learn to identify malfunctions and make minor repairs.
Co-Enrollment: Students must co-enroll in Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certification Program Level 1 and Festo Industry 4.0 Certification Program Level 1: Industry 4.0 Fundamentals, offering an opportunity to earn two industry-recognized credentials.
Automated systems are becoming more complex and pervasive, and an increased knowledge is required to design, operate, and maintain them than ever before. Complex mechatronic systems are the nexus of mechanical, electrical, and computerized technologies. There is a growing need for qualified people at all levels of an organization with knowledge of integrated mechatronic systems. Siemens, a world leader in mechatronic engineering, has responded to this need by creating an industry certification program.
The
Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certification Program (SMSCP) is a comprehensive industry skills certification in mechatronic systems. Students learn troubleshooting strategies and can easily transfer their knowledge and expertise to another system. Students with a Siemens Mechatronic certification are employees who are flexible, autonomous, and professional in their dealings.
Topics covered include the following:
- Mechatronic Systems
- Electrical Components
- Mechanical Components and Electrical Drives
- (Electro) Pneumatic and Hydraulic Control Circuits
- Digital Fundamentals and PLCs
Length: 52.5 Course Hours
Potential Certification: Upon successful completion of this course, students will earn the Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certification Program (SMSCP) Level 1 certification.
