This program prepares students to serve a vital role in the healthcare industry as a phlebotomy technician. Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipuncture competently and safely. Techniques for specific collection, specimen handling, and patient interactions will be developed. Students are introduced to basic medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, components of health care delivery, and clinical laboratory structure.

A 36-hour internship is included which provides students with a hands-on experience to apply the principles and techniques learned in the program.
