Commercial Driver's License: Class B Driver Training (WCG)

 


This program prepares students for operating commercial motor vehicles, such as large passenger buses, segmented buses, box trucks, and dump trucks with small trailers. A Class B commercial driver's license is required to operate a single vehicle with a GVWR of more than 26,000 lbs. and/or while towing another vehicle weighing up to 10,000 lbs. 

Length: 120 Course Hours

Potential Certification:  Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the Virginia CDL Class B Endorsement exam.

Supplies and Fees:  Tuition includes cost of DOT physical and drug screen. Class B commercial learner's permit is the responsibility of the student.

Curriculum Requirements (must be obtained and provided to Ancora Training prior to the first class session):

• Valid Virginia Driver's License.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate by passing a DOT physical.
• Class A Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP).
  • Consists of 3 tests: General Knowledge, Air Brakes, and Combination (can be taken in 1-3 sessions).
  • Manual available at DMV to prepare for CLP.
  • Mobile prep apps include "CDL Prep" and "CDL Test".
• DOT drug screen with negative results.
• Driving record from DMV for the last 5 years (available online at https://www.dmv.virginia.gov).
