Power Line Commercial Driver's License Class A Endorsement

 


Students learn how to inspect and operate tractor trailers and to assume driver responsibilities on the road and at pickup/delivery points. This program prepares students to take the Virginia CDL Class A Endorsement examination. Many of the vehicles that utility companies use while repairing power lines require a commercial driver's license to operate.

Emphasis is placed on the following:

• vehicle inspections
• defensive driving
• range maneuvers
• motor carrier safety regulations
• trip planning
• cargo handling
• size/weight laws
• general maintenance procedures
• hours of service
• accident prevention

Length: 160 Course Hours

Potential Certification:  Students who successfully complete the program will be eligible to take the Virginia CDL Class A Endorsement exam.

Tuition:  $6,000 Full Price; $2,000 FastForward WCG Price

Supplies and Fees:  Tuition includes cost of DOT physical and drug screen. Class A commercial learner's permit is the responsibility of the student.

This program is offered in partnership with Ancora Education, who will be your training provider.

CDL Curriculum Requirements (must be obtained and provided to Ancora Training prior to the first class session):

• Valid Virginia Driver's License
• Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate by passing a DOT physical
• Class A Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP)
• DOT drug screen with negative results
• Driving record from DMV for the last 5 years
