NCCER Core-Introductory Craft Skills

This program introduces students to essential construction and manufacturing skills, the foundation of all craft programs. Successful completion of the Core curriculum is a prerequisite for any Level One craft certificate from NCCER. Core certification lays the groundwork for students to pursue an advanced training program in a specialty area like carpentry, electrical, heavy equipment operations, HVAC, plumbing, or power line worker.

Its modules cover topics such as:
  • Basic Construction Site Safety
  • Introduction to Construction Math
  • Introduction to Hand Tools
  • Introduction to Power Tools
  • Introduction to Construction Drawings
  • Basic Communication Skills
  • Basic Employability Skills
  • Introduction Material Handling
Length: 75 Course Hours (56 in-person / 19 online)

Hybrid Format: Classes meet face to face and are supplemented with online learning.

Potential Certification:  Upon successful completion of all modules in the curriculum, students will receive the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Core: Introduction to Basic Construction Skills certification.

Tuition:  $2,100 Full Price; $700 FastForward WCG Price


Supplies and Fees:  Tuition includes cost of textbook, supplies, and NCCER subscription fee.

Occupational Objective: Prepares students for entry-level positions on project sites.
