Program Overview
This course provides instruction for trainees seeking a Hazardous Materials (H) endorsement to operate commercial motor vehicles used in the transportation of toxic or volatile substances. As described in FMCSR § 383.93(c)(4), trainees must complete this curriculum and achieve a minimum assessment score of 80% in order for the student’s information to be included on the Training Provider Registry (TPR).
Skills Gained
Once the trainee passes the course and their information is submitted to the TPR, they will be able to take the state-administered knowledge test required for the Hazmat endorsement.
Application Process
To earn your hazmat endorsement, you must:
1. Hold a valid CDL Class A License
2. Pay any fees required by the DMV
3. Pass the Hazmat written test
4. Get fingerprinted
5. Pass the Federal background check
After completing the fingerprinting and application process, your information will be submitted to TSA to make the determination of eligibility.
If your background check is approved by TSA, you will be mailed a new license with the Hazmat endorsement listed.
