This four-level program covers the foundational skills technicians need to safely install, maintain, and troubleshoot residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC systems. Level 3 builds on previous knowledge and emphasizes troubleshooting a variety of HVACR issues, covering a range of topics including inspection and installation of refrigeration, hydronic, and duct systems.

  • Steam Systems
  • Fiberglass and Fabric Duct Systems
  • Retail Refrigeration Systems
  • Zoning, Ductless, and Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems
Length: 175 Course Hours

Prerequisite:  NCCER Core and NCCER HVACR Levels 1 and 2 certifications

Potential Certifications:  Students who successfully complete all modules in the curriculum will receive the National Center for Construction Education & Research HVAC Level 3 and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certifications.

Supplies and Fees:  Tuition includes cost of textbook, supplies, and NCCER subscription fee.
 
Occupational Objective: HVACR technicians are skilled professionals responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing residential, commercial, and industrial heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems. Career paths may include HVAC technician, HVAC installer, HVAC engineer, HVAC energy auditor, and HVAC building automation specialist.
