Students are equipped with essential skills necessary to perform both administrative and patient clinical procedures in a variety of medical settings while preparing for certification. 

Tasks performed could include:
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Maintaining patient records
  • Interviewing patients
  • Measuring and recording vital signs
  • Preparing exam rooms
  • Assisting providers with exams and procedures
  • Cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment
  • Administering injections and oral medications
  • Performing point-of-care testing
  • Performing electrocardiograms
Length: 150 Course Hours

Admission Requirements: 
  • Students must have a high school diploma or GED and basic computer skills.
  • Students must be advised by a FastForward Coach prior to enrollment.
Potential Certifications: Students who successfully complete the program will have the opportunity to earn CPR certification and will be eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam.
 
Supplies and Fees: Tuition includes cost of required textbook, workbook, supplies, CPR certification, exam study guide and practice tests, and exam voucher.

Employment Objective: CCMA's work in physicians' offices, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and other healthcare facilities. Getting certified as a medical assistant can enhance your salary, make you more competitive, and build you skill set. Many employers look for candidates with credentials because it provides tangible proof of skills and knowledge.
